Wholesome Food

Adelante volunteers pick up donations from Trader Joe’s TO & WLV, Target WLV, Whole Foods TO, and from the Thousand Oaks Farmers Market. Our friends at Food Forward arrange for donations from ranches and backyard orchards in our area. We glean the donations, pack them up, and take them to our free food distributions.

  • High quality, fresh foods are essential to health and well-being.

  • Improving the availability of healthy foods significantly reduces chronic diseases and health disparities.

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables are often the first to be removed from the shopping cart when finances are tight because they have limited life before they must be cooked or eaten.
